PreCanSkate and CanSkate up to Level 4
CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.
Who’s it for?
Skaters wishing to improve their basic skills whether their focus be for figure skating, hockey, speed skating or just skating for fun.
Skater must be three years old and able to go on ice without a parent.
PreCanSkate: Thursdays from 4:15-4:45pm
CanSkate: Thursday from 4:00-4:45pm
October 10th 2024 - December 19th 2024, and January 9th - February 27th 2025
PreCanSkate Cost: $266.15 (includes Skate Canada fee $58.65 and registration fees $9.50)
CanSkate Cost: $285.85 (includes Skate Canada fee $58.65 and registration fees $10.20)

CSA approved Hockey Helmets are MANDATORY for this program. No ski or bike helmets permitted.
Rising Stars (Upper CanSkate levels 5/6 & Star 1)
CanSkate is a dynamic learn-to-skate program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. Based on Sport Canada’s long term athlete development (LTAD) principles, CanSkate centers on physical literacy and the fundamental skills needed to take part in any ice sport or to skate as a recreational activity.
Who’s it for?
Skaters who have progressed beyond the basic levels of CanSkate and require more of a challenge. This program also bridges into Figure Skating, but still has a large focus on developing skating skills further.
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-3:45pm
October 1st - December 19th 2024, and January 7th - February 27th 2025
There will be an off-ice class on Tuesdays from 6:00-6:30pm in the Arena Lounge. This is included in the program cost.
Cost: $423.77 (includes Skate Canada fee $ 58.65 and registration fees $15.12)
CSA approved Hockey Helmets are still required if your skater has not passed their level 5/6 CanSkate badges. Please speak to the coach.
Skills, Tests, Achievement, Recognition – this is what STARSkate is all about!
STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Unique in Canada, this program teaches figure skating skills in a group and/or private lesson format in a progressive and sequential manner and includes specifically designed awards and incentives. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada Assessments through a nationally standardized assessment system. Skaters who have mastered figure skating skills in STARSkate may also choose to pursue synchronized skating or pairs skating.
This season we are offering STAR 1 - Gold levels which will include both group and private lessons.
Star 2+: Tuesdays from 3:45-5:45pm, Thursdays from 4:45-6:15pm, and Sundays from 2:45-3:45pm
There will be an Off-ice class on Tuesdays in the lounge from 6:00-6:30pm.

Star 2-Gold Cost: Please inquire as this differs depending on amount of time skating. Must pay Skate Canada fee before stepping on the ice.
